Important Physical Access Notices

MacQuarrie Hall Entry Closures

The ADA Compliance Office has been advised by Facilities Development & Operations (FD&O) that due to construction, there will be periodic closures of MacQuarrie Hall entries throughout the fall 2009 semester. Only one entry is to be closed at a time. An accessible entry will remain open at all times. Proper signage will be posted to direct traffic.  During this time, if you have any access related questions or concerns, please notify the ADA Compliance Office at (408) 924-5880 or adacompliance@drc.sjsu.edu.

Music Building Elevator Back in Service

The ADA Compliance Office has been advised by Facilities Development & Operations (FD&O) that the repair work on the Music Building elevator has passed inspection, and the elevator is back in service. The ADA Compliance Office thanks FD&O for their response time to the campus needs and our campus community for your patience during the repair time.

Duncan Hall Elevator Temporarily Down

The ADA Compliance Office has been advised by Facilities Development & Operations (FD&O) that the repair work on the Duncan Hall Building elevator is scheduled for repair. This means there will be no use of the Duncan Hall Building elevator until the repairs are complete. In the interim, if you have any access related questions or concerns, please notify the ADA Compliance Office at (408) 924-5880 or adacompliance@drc.sjsu.edu.  The ADA Compliance Office will continue to send out important updates on the progress of the elevator repair as they become known. MacQuarrie Hall (MQH) Notice of Construction

Please note, Facilities, Development & Operations (FD&O) notified the ADA Compliance Office today that on Monday, October 19, 2009,  a fence will be placed around MQH to set the beginning of construction for the proposed Spartan Shops Market & Administration facility.  Entrances to/from MQH and from the 7^th Street Parking Lot will not be blocked.  However, signage will be placed to denote pedestrian access paths to and from the building and the parking lot.  In the interim, if you have any access related questions or concerns, please notify the ADA Compliance Office at (408) 924-5880 or adacompliance@drc.sjsu.edu.  The ADA Compliance Office will continue to send out important updates on the progress of the construction site or any alternative access paths as they become known.
