Rescue the format after using an older version of Word

If you open a Word file from an older version of Word and use Kurzweil to edit and then save it as a Word file in our system, the formatting may be affected.  One way to rescue the formatting is to open and name the file (different name than original file name) and then cut and paste by paragraph to the new file. Change the margins to the appropriate size.  Using the commands Select All and Copy and Paste will not work.
