05/20/09 -

• New summer schedule for the ATC after May 22, 2009 is posted. Due to budget cuts, the ATC will no longer offer weekend hours after the spring semester 2009.

01/26/09 -

• The Adaptive Technology Center (ATC) welcomes all DRC students to the Spring 2009 semester. Please check our DRC director's welcome letter  regarding our DRC programs and services.

01/14/09 -

• Student Account Expiration Date & Re-Orientation

  • Fall 2008 Account Expiration Date: January 20, 2009

  • Students may come in for re-orientation anytime during open hours beginning Tuesday, January 20, 2009. No appointment needed. Please allow at least 10 minutes for re-orientation. See the Orientation & Re-orientation policy for more details.

  • DRC students will use SJSU tower cards to scan through the new laser scanner at the front desk upon entering and leaving the ATC.

  • San Jose State University, through partnership with Microsoft Live Edu, provides a feature-rich, intuitive electronic mail environment to the Student community. To activate your SJSU student email account, you just need to follow 3 easy steps. If you need assistance, pay a visit to the ATC during the open lab hours.

   

• CCLVI Scholarship Announcement

  • The Council of Citizens with Low Vision International (CCLVI) will award three scholarships in the amount of $3,000 each to full-time entering freshmen, undergraduate and graduate college students who are visually impaired, maintain a strong GPA and are involved in their school/local community.  Applications may be submitted beginning January 1st and all materials must be received by March 1st.  Scholarship monies will be awarded for the 2009 - 2010 academic year. To read the scholarship guidelines and complete an on-line application, please visit: www.cclvi.org and click on the "Scholarship' link.  Questions may be directed to CCLVI at (800) 733-2258.

• Priority Sign-Up Time Limit for Audio/Private Rooms

  • The audio/private room time limit for priority sign-up has been extended:  Students may now sign-up for audio/private rooms for up to 2 hours.  Please be sure to review our audio/private room policies and procedures.

• New Printing Policy

  • Please be aware that the following new printing policy is now effective:  "The ATC reserves the right to refer specialty/custom print jobs to the A.S. Print Shop or other printing facilities at any time."

  • Be sure to stop by the ATC or DRC to fill out a nomination form for the DRC's Gala Scholarship Fundraiser & 30th Annual Recognition Awards Program.  You may also obtain a form online. Forms are due Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2008, so don't delay!
