Priority Registration for Student with DisabilitiesIn accordance with University Policy S97-1, pursuant to the Academic Senate Policy Recommendation Scheduling of Registration and Priority Registration Policy, the rules governing priority registration for students with disabilities are to be implemented as follows: Category A students are students who would not otherwise graduate within a reasonable time due to an on-going disability, or because they perform on-going services for disabled students. The Disability Resource Center shall determine whether a student belongs to Category A on a case-by-case basis. All students registering with the DRC will be considered for priority registration based on disability-related criteria. Priority registration is not to be a blanket accommodation for all disabled students, but must be justified by a professional evaluation of individual needs. Students with disabilities having priority registration as an accommodation prior to February 17, 1997 will continue to have that status until they graduate. Students who provide notetaking services for students with disabilities are included in Category A, and will receive priority registration for the subsequent semester in which they provide notes for one or more students with disabilities. Completion of documentation verifying satisfactory performance of notetaking services is required for the notetaker to receive priority registration.
